Pahuway Nga Dayon (Eternal Rest)

A durational piece performed for five hours for two nights. In the description, I scribbled:

“I offer this performance to those who perished because of torture and persecution. To those who got shot because of their political stand. To those slain by people in power and thrown away like rubbish in secluded marshes and garbage bins. To the indigenous community members who were killed for refusing to give up their ancestral domains. To the journalists and whistleblowers who suddenly went missing because they spoke of ‘truth’. To those who lost their lives in calamities. To those who died unnecessarily.”

Performed during KESTO, the first public performance by the MA Live Art and Performance Studies students of the University of the Arts Helsinki. Held at the Vapaan Taiteen Tila, November 2015.
